Dinosaurs

The amazing hot weather continues and as it is a holiday weekend too I took myself off to take some photos.  I went up to Crystal Palace park to see the dinosaurs.   I used to live in Anerley which is down the hill from the park and the park was always a favourite of mine.

I went to Crystal Palace by train, went into the park and passed the stadium, which looked like it has seen better days.
Then on to the dinorsaurs.   The creatures were built in 1854 by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins.  It 1973 they were made Grade II listed buildings, they were restored in 2002 and eventually made Grade I listed buildings in 2007.
I have always been a fan of these dinorsaurs and the park generally.  I will go back and soon and take some photographs of the rest of the park.

  2. Wow, I didn't know anything about these! We used to go to Crystal Palace for canoe polo competitions in the swimming pool there and I had no idea there was an interesting park nearby...
