Festive Treats

I have been making some festive treats.  Last year I made Truffles but this year I thought I would make something different so not only did I make Rum Truffles, but also Chocolate Fridge Cake and Peanut Butter Squares, thanks to Lorraine Pascale's cook book.

Here is the Chocolate Fridge Cake, with digestive biscuits and Maltesers to give the crunch.
The Peanut Butter Squares - very scrummy
Here they are all bagged up and ready to be given away.

Vauxhall

Today I popped into town to meet my friend Val.  We headed for Vauxhall as I need to get my camera cleaned at Fixation and it seriously needed it.   Following the cleaning session we went to have a potter around Brunswick House and then had lunch my the river.   On a walk back to the station I thought I should try out the newly cleaned camera and I saw a side of Vauxhall Bridge I have not seen before.

Goodnight Mr Tom

I was fortunate to win tickets to see Goodnight Mr Tom and I went to see the show yesterday with my friend Karen.

We met for lunch and had a good opportunity to catch up and then off to the Phoenix Theatre for the matinee performance.

The story is lovely, I really liked the dog and the other animals a squirrel and birds, none of them were real but very cleverly portrayed.  It is a great play and the audience, including lots of schoolchildren, enjoyed it.

Our first snow this winter

This morning it was a bit of a surprise to wake up to snow falling and settling.   This was unexpected and fortunately it all went by lunch time.
