Welcome to my blog

This is my diary blog which I started when I retired from the Civil Service in April 2010. I like to include some of the things that I see and do with as many photographs as possible. Thank you for visiting my blog I hope you enjoyed it and will return to see what I have been doing. Or you could always join and be one of my followers.

If you would like to use one of my photographs then please ask me first, as they are all subject to copyright.

If you are interested in my crafts then I have added these to my crafting blog -

Book - Standing in another man's grave

Just finished the latest Ian Rankin, Rebus book, Standing in another man's grave.   Great book as I do like Rebus but I was a little disappointed in the ending, but that is my personal opinion.

Last class

Yesterday was the last class for my City and Guilds Photography level 2.  We spent most of the class doing group shots and talking about the work that we haven't finished.   So it may be the last class but there is still work to be done to hand in our portfolios.

Here is a collage of our silhouettes and hats were the order of the day.

This one was stitched together by our tutor

Birthday cards and presents

I have received some lovely birthday cards, flowers and presents.

Wine tasting

I went to a wine tasting on Friday with my friend Val at Honeywood House Museum.  This time we had Croatian wine and Miz (shown below) explained all about the wine and the region the wine came from.
I went to a wine tasting a few months ago and I put on the details on the blog.

Brighton Meetup

Last weekend I attended a meetup in Brighton with the Hampshire Photography Friends and we had a really great walk around Brighton.  It started off a little wet but it soon warmed up and the sun came out.   it is a long time since I have seen the Royal Pavilion and pier.

It was the London to Brighton cycle ride too, so lots of cyclists and visitors in town.
I have added more photos to flickr too.

Crystal Palace Park

My C&G photography class had a field trip morning out at Crystal Palace Park.    We all took some interesting photos which I have added to flickr.

Carshalton Carnival - Wonders of the Deep

I popped down to Carshalton at lunchtime to see the carnival today and took a few photos in the sun.   The theme for this carnival was Wonders of the Deep.

Books - Private London and Postcard Killers

I have managed to read 2 of James Patterson's book in the last week.   I do like a bit crime fiction and especially James Patterson.   I couldn't put down either of these books and had to see where they were going.   Both really excellent books.
