Day out in Dorking

Yesterday I went with my friend Val to Dorking.  It was a pottering about kinda day, into the shops and just generally having a pleasant, but freezing cold, day.    While walking along the high street I came across this rather lovely archway.  The arch relates to Grant Allen so I have included this information plaque is about him.

Here is the archway

Walk around London Bridge

Yesterday I joined another visit to London with the Hampshire Photography Meet-up Group.  We started at Borough Market, which was packed as usual.  I arrived a bit late so I didn't take that many photographs at the Market.
I did see this Pedibus which looks like it was a hen party.
We then moved onto London and Tower Bridge.
I have added further photos to flickr.

Pullman train at Norwood Junction

I was on my way up to London yesterday and while waiting for my train I heard the sound of a steam train and I managed to capture a few photos.

Lambeth Palace

Today I went on a visit to Lambeth Palace.  It was an interesting tour and we went into various rooms including the Library, which was amazing.   The rooms were lovely and it was interesting hearing all about the history.   I was surprised to find the area of the palace and gardens is 12 acres.  I think the gardens will be a great sight in the summer.

There are some more photographs on flickr.
