Theatre - Twelve Angry Men

I had a ticket to see Twelve Angry Men at the Garrick Theatre on Thursday.   I can just about remember seeing the movie of the same name but could not remember the ending.   The play was brilliant and a great cast too, definitely worth seeing.  Interestingly the floor moves during the play but I never saw it happen!

Theatre - The Light Princess

Last night I went, with my friend Rochelle, to see The Light Princess at the National Theatre.   I didn't know the story but it is a Scottish fairy tale and this was set to music by Tori Amos.

Without giving too much away the Princess has no gravity and spends her time floating in the air.  There were some wires used but most of the time the Princess was manoeuvred around by 4 acrobats.   The acrobats were all dressed in black and so the blended into the background and they kept her moving off the ground during the production, while the Princess continues acting, singing etc.  It was brilliantly done.

A really good evening and an excellent musical.

Weather - January 2014

This year has seen some amazing weather, in the USA they have a polar vortex which means it is freezing cold.   In the UK we have had so much rain there have been floods in all areas of the country, with rivers bursting their banks and coastal areas being hit by stormy seas. There have been some amazing skies too, like this one taken a couple of days ago in the morning.

Aqua Aerobics

I started an Aqua Aerobics class this week.   I have been doing some swimming classes at the same pool, near Worcester Park, but decided to try the Aqua Aerobics for a change.   The pool was so lovely and warm, I really enjoyed the class.

Theatre - Strangers on a Train

Yesterday I went to see Strangers on a Train yesterday at the Gielgud Theatre.  This is one of my first visits to the theatre this year and I already booked for 3 trips for the next couple of months.

I really enjoyed the performance and thought Laurence Fox and Jack Huston were brilliant.   I did however, find the second half drag a little (just my opinion) but I absolutely loved the scene changes they were amazing.   Also I noticed that everyone was wearing black, white or grey and so was the scenery so the whole production was in monochrome which gave that old movie look to the play.

Visit to Lincoln

Well Christmas was lovely and relaxing and between Christmas and New Year I went to Lincoln to stay with my friend Rochelle.  We did a visit to the Lincoln Cathedral and did a roof top tour, where we had this amazing view.
We also saw where the bell ringers do their stuff.

We also were up close and personal with one of the rose windows.
There are some further photos on flickr.
