Sushi Making

As part of my birthday present this year I was given a voucher to attend a sushi making course.

The course was at Yo Sushi near St Paul's Cathedral.   There were 15 of us on the course and our Chef was very patient with us all.   We made so much sushi, some of which was eaten immediately and remainder we took home.   It was really good fun and food was so tasty.

Sinah Warren weekend 2015

The annual school friends get together weekend took place at Sinah Warren this year.

We were pretty lucky with the weather and this is the view from our window.

On the Saturday we did a walk to West Dean Gardens were we had a long walk and a very nice lunch.

Sunday we went to Arundel Castle.

The Gardens are pretty special

And I found a cat in the greenhouse.

I was impressed by this Crown Fountain,

I went down to Boscombe for a few days to do some drawing but I also had some time to go for a walk down to the pier, where they have a musical theme.

I also found some modern art.

These few days were part of the Art Holidays in Dorset at the Boscombe Spa Hotel.

The 70th anniversary of VJ Day

On Saturday 15 August 2015 it is the 70th anniversary of VJ Day.

My great nephew Jack had the honour of lighting a candle at the ceremony at St Martins in the Field, in the presence of the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, other royals, the Prime Minister and many veterans.

Day out at the Bluebell Railway.

Last weekend was a photography day out with the Hampshire Photography Meetup group. We spent the day in and around the Bluebell Railway.

We met up at Horsted Keynes for a Vintage Vehicle Fair.

Then we went up to Kingscote Station where I found some bees to photograph, amongst other things.

And we did see some steam trains too.
And finally down to Sheffield park.

Lots more photos on flickr.

Kingston welcomes Korea

Last night I went to see a recital which forms part of the Kingston welcomes Korea.  It was held at the All Saints Church, Kingston.  The two performers were Grace Yeo and Marisol Lee who played piano and violin.   A very good concert but a shame the audience wasn't very large.
