New York

When my Mum died last year I promised myself I would do a trip to the USA and in particular New York city.    It was a long weekend and it was amazing.
Stayed in a hotel down 37th Street
Went on a tour of the city and then did a helicopter flight over the city.  The weather was lovely and it was fantastic to see so many sights.

Lunch was at Grand Central Station, pastrami on rye followed by cheesecake, both of which were so tasty.  The station is quite lovely too.

That evening we went up the Empire State Building to see New York at night.
We then went to see Times Square and the Rockefeller Centre.

We also travelled over to Hoboken, New Jersey so we could see Manhattan.
On the Sunday I met up with my friends Cindy and Jim at the World Trade Centre and we visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum, which was so moving.   Fantastic to meet up with my pen pal of some 40 years.

On the last day we did the Circle Line cruise and the weather was rubbish, wet and windy but we did get to see the Statue of Liberty
Lots more photos of flickr.
