Tour of Australia (Part 1 - Perth)

In March I did a tour of Australia it is taking me a time to go through the photos so I will update the blog as I get through each part of the tour.

We met at Heathrow and started our journey with a brief stop in Dubai and eventually arriving in Perth, Western Australia in the early hours of the morning.

Our first day we did some sightseeing which included Kings Park
The following day we did a trip up to Freemantle where we saw the War Memorial
On our last day in Perth I had a day off from the tour and did my own thing.  I took a stroll down Elizabeth Quay where I sat a sketched the Perth skyline.
I visited the Bell Tower and listened to bells that came from St Martin's in the Fields in London.
I also had a stroll down the town to the London Court and to the Supreme Court Gardens.

Finally I went to the Mint

Weekend in Avignon, France

Also in April I had a weekend in Avignon, on the Eurostar.   We had a great little hotel not far from the station.
Our view of the hotel courtyard

The weather was perfect and we managed to see the sights.
 Palais de Papes

Pont Saint-Benezet

We had some pretty good meals including some tasty tarts from Ginette and Marcel's
There are some photos on flickr.

Girls weekend at Gunton Hall

At the beginning of April my school friends and I had a weekend break at Gunton Hall, Suffolk.    On route we had a coffee break at the River Stour, Flatford, a very pretty place where John Constable famously painted the Hay Wain

We stayed in chalets, which started being a little chilly, fortunately the heater worked.   Our view from the chalet was rather nice (when it was sunny).
We had a very wet Saturday in a not so inspiring Lowestoft, but Sunday was beautiful and sunny and we went off to Southwold.
